Fixed term 8 months

 

The TEC finance team support a rapidly changing business and need a Financial Analyst to support the Funds Management team on a fixed term.

We have an exciting and ambitious work programme ahead of us over the next 10 months. The Funds Management team are an integral part of the TEC, helping to manage $3.2 billion of Tertiary funding grants. Our role is to model, forecast and process payments for the funding, we get involved right through the process and are the “Go to Team” for everything involving numbers and finances.  In addition to business as usual the Funds Management team is helping design and build a new system to manage the grants funding. This will require a re-design of our processes and procedures and will change the way we operate.

The Financial Analyst will help the team with business as usual throughout this change and will also have a chance to input into how the new system operates.

The successful candidate will be sharp, have high energy and will bring attention to detail, expertise with numbers and a willingness to learn.  In turn TEC will give the candidate valuable experience. The Financial analyst will process grants information and will be exposed to and learn advanced excel modelling, a wide range of government processes, and will interface with the finance team and the accounting side of the grants.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • ideally a tertiary qualification in either ICT, accounting, mathematics or finance.
  • proven track record in a detailed focussed role
  • demonstrable commitment, drive and initiative to achieve project and organisational outcomes
  • demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to inform business decision making
  • demonstrated communication, facilitation, influencing and interpersonal skills.
