Assistant Service Centre Managers

Permanent, Wellington Region

We’re looking for outstanding individuals with a high degree of initiative to provide leadership to our customer-facing teams.

Our purpose at MSD is to help New Zealanders to be safe, strong and independent. The successful individuals will be passionate about customer service, and able to create an environment where our people can be engaged and motivated to achieve successful outcomes for New Zealanders.

As an Assistant Service Centre Manager, you will report to the Service Centre Manager and support them to create high performing teams. You will work with Service Centre Managers and the wider team to continue the drive to MSD’s on-line services and help to build and maintain effective relationships with local agencies and community groups.

Day to day operations of the site will include workforce planning, managing and coordinating key centre activities such as reporting, resolving complaints, decision support, facilitating meetings, issue identification/escalation and managing internal controls.

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the Administration Officer and will work closely with Case Managers, Service Centre Trainers and other stakeholders, so it is important that you can establish and maintain positive working relationships and communicate key messages successfully.

You are confident organising work priorities and achieving results in a high pressure, client focused environment.

To do well in this role, you will have:

  • strong leadership attributes
  • demonstrated relationship and conflict resolution skills
  • the ability to engage and quickly build rapport with people from varied and diverse backgrounds
  • proven work performance and a strong commitment to achieving results
  • a full clean NZ driver’s license and able to travel to fulfill job requirements

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the Key Behaviours that underpin our working relationship within Service Delivery. These are;

  • Hononga (connecting to the why)
  • Whakawhanaungatanga (building relationships)
  • Kotahitanga (working as one)
  • Manaakitanga (looking after each other)
  • Whakanui (celebration)

We appoint our people leaders to the Wellington region, so are looking for individuals flexible to move between Service Centres depending on the business needs.  The Wellington Region covers Porirua, the Hutt Valley through to our Newtown site.
